The Evening
A night to remember
An intimate celebration surrounded by friends, family, and timeless architecture

The Atmosphere
Some places feel special the moment you walk in. Larz Anderson is one of them. The dark wood, tall ceilings, and glowing chandeliers created a space that felt grand but still warm. The light was soft and golden, and everything about the room made the night feel important.
Built in the early 1900s, the Anderson House was once the winter home of Larz and Isabel Anderson. Larz Anderson was a diplomat, writer, and traveler who served the United States abroad. Together, the Andersons filled the home with art, books, and objects collected from around the world. Today, the house stands as a historic landmark, known for its architecture, murals, and quiet elegance.
The grand event
Suzanne’s birthday ball matched that feeling perfectly. Guests arrived in tuxedos, elegant gowns, and formal military uniforms. It was beautiful to see everyone dressed with such care. The whole evening felt classic and timeless
One of the most memorable parts of the night was watching everyone dance. The room shifted from formal to joyful. People relaxed, laughed, and moved freely. That energy brought the celebration to life.
As a photographer, my goal was to capture the mood exactly as it felt. I wanted to keep the warm light and the natural atmosphere of the space. I didn’t want it to look overly bright or staged. I wanted it to feel real, the way it looked to the eye in that moment.
This was more than a party. It was an experience that people will remember for a long time.
